E-Man
$16.99 – $37.99
Published by Charlton Comics from 1973 to 1975 and later picked up by First Comics in 1983.
The star of this cheerful, self-deprecating title was originally little more than a glob of energy floating about in space. Then, a passing spaceship caught the energy’s fancy, and it hitched a ride. As luck would have it, the ship was bound for Pluto where it meant to destroy the planet in a test of its alien super-weapon. However, when the energy took form while on the ship, the additional mass forced the ship off course, sending it crashing into Earth.
The energy jumped ship before the crash, got tangled in some high tension lines, and eventually wound up trapped in a light bulb in exotic dancer Nova Kane’s dressing room. When she freed him, he took on the form of a man. As E-Man, he is able to switch from energy to matter at will, taking on any form. He is also able to convert part of his mass into energy bolts which he can fire at enemies. He uses these powers to save our world from a variety of earthly and unearthly menaces.
