Vanth Dreadstar is a reluctant messiah in this epic series by Jim Starlin. Together with a ragtag team of rebels, he must seek a conclusion to the centuries-long war between the Monarchy, the last of a noble empire, and The Instrumentality—a fanatical group of religious crusaders with awesome military might.
Dreadstar is a brilliant series in the tradition of Epic Illustrated magazine from which it sprang. Jim Starlin is at his best here as he weaves religious and social commentary into an action-filled storyline reminiscent of Star Wars.
