Batman the Killing Joke

The story begins with a visit to Arkham Asylum. There, in a cell which belongs to the Joker, a psychotic killer and Batman’s greatest enemy, it seems that a switch has taken place. A dupe has taken the Joker’s place, allowing the Joker to escape. Soon Gotham City will once again face the lunacidal terror of the green-haired madman.

Scripted by Alan Moore, this is easily one of the best Joker stories ever told. It’s a mad tale of terror that ushers in a new level of fear in the dark world of Batman.
