Airboy combines cutting-edge style and social commentary of the likes of a golden age comic strip. Featuring characters such as Iron Ace, Skywolf, Misery, and Wolfmark, Airboy has the action and style of an old Buck Rogers serial. At the same time it goes places that Buck would never have gone, such as to Bogantilla, a dictatorship strikingly familiar to certain Central American countries. In this and other adventures, Airboy faces not only the traditional super-bad guys, but also the more down-to-earth evils of civil war, corrupt and oppressive governments, and the cold-war clashing of third-world armies used as pawns by the world’s super-powers.
